Bart Nederhand

My name is Bart Nederhand: a true Eindhoven native. I started playing the drums at the age of 15. Just four weeks after I began, I already had a performance at the school party, and that's when the passion ignited! It was the moment I knew that drumming is simply the coolest thing there is.

I continued practicing like crazy and played in various bands until, at the age of 18, I founded Peter Pan Speedrock with the bassist and guitarist.

30 years of success

For a whopping thirty years, we played all over the world, released about ten studio albums, sold 100,000 CDs and records, and performed in over 2400 shows.

For ten years, we organized Speedfest: an annual festival that attracted at least 6000 visitors per edition. In addition, we organized Klokrock Orange for five years, a popular festival on King's Day that drew around 10,000 visitors.

I am currently playing in Speedmobile with bassist Bart Geevers (Peter Pan Speedrock) and guitarist-singer Jeroen Haamers (Batmobile). Occasionally, I fill in for country singer Bob Wayne

Awards

In 2002 and 2008, I received a 'Duiveltje,' an award for the best drummer in the Netherlands. In 2003, Peter Pan Speedrock won the Silver Harp in the 'Emerging Talent' category. In 2005, the band received the 'Silver Tulip,' an award for positively promoting the city of Eindhoven and the region. In 2016, we were honored with the Friendship Medal from the city of Eindhoven: an award for individuals who have made significant contributions to the city.

Even during the band's great success, I continued to give drum lessons because it gives me a lot of energy, and it's enjoyable to pass on the finer points.

I am sponsored by Ludwig drums, Sabian cymbals, and Vic Firth drumsticks.
