Daan Koch

My name is Daan Koch, a versatile musician from Eindhoven with a diverse musical heart. Fueled by a fascination for the power of pop and rock songs, I started practicing on keys, guitar, drums, and vocals from the age of eight. Slowly but surely, my interest in songwriting also emerged.

Since the age of fourteen, I have been playing and writing in bands such as The Goods, Lovesteaks, The Spades, Stereo, Wolfskop, Hippe Gasten, Anker, and Stacked Actors.

As choosing one instrument proved to be a challenging task, I opted for the versatile teacher training program at the conservatory of the Utrecht School of the Arts, where I obtained my first-degree teaching qualification in 2006. In addition to performing hundreds of shows, I have since shared my enthusiasm for music, collaboration, and live performances with hundreds of students in secondary education (Christiaan Huygens, Augustinianum), vocational education (Rock City Institute, Rijn Ijssel Arnhem), and higher education (HKU).

In 2012, along with my two best friends, I co-founded Anker Studio, a rehearsal space/studio/live stage, where our mutual passion for bands fully blossomed over the past decade, culminating in our own festival, Ankerfest.

In short, I have a tremendous passion for imparting music and everything associated with it.
